One key topic often overlooked or under-appreciated in the field of Negotiations is the power of empathy.
Listen to this Hacks Capital podcast from Simon Rycraft's discussion with Gary Noesner and Mori Taheripour (two experts in the field of Negotiations who bring an amazing wealth of insights from international law enforcement to academics, entrepreneurship and the business of sports).
Gary is the former Chief of the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit, retiring in 2003 following a 30 year career with the bureau. Gary is also the author of a fantastic and thrilling book "Stalling for Time - My time as an FBI Hostage Negotiator", parts of which were used as the basis for the Paramount Network's TV series on the Waco Crisis.
Mori is a faculty member in the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she teaches Negotiations and Dispute Resolution. Mori is also the author of the recently published and thought leading book "Bring Yourself, How to harness the power of connection to negotiate fearlessly".
